The goal of this project is to create a small self driving car. To do this we have two Raspberry Pi 3's (RP) hooked up in parallel. These serve as the brain of our robot. From the RP we have have hooked up a number of sensors. Currently there are 3 of them: sonar, GPS, and compass/accelerometer. We also intend to add a gyroscope and a laser radar system. The body of the robot is a RC car we have gutted and re-purposed.

Robotics is and will continue to be a very important part of the modern world. From rumbas to clean your house, to predator drones robots can do tasks that humans find undesirable or are unable to do. For our lab, we are working more on the rumba side of things rather than the missile carrying death machines. Working on robotics projects provides the opportunity to work with electrical components, computer programming, and data processing.
