For an in depth example and walk through, DigiKey's youtube series on KiCad, found here, provides excellent information how to use most of KiCad's essential features. This tutorial prepares PCB schematics which are intended to be printed by a third part and not in the lab, so the tutorial will not provide any information about cutting and etching the PCB. For these steps, refer to the sections below.
